Forwarded I know that taking care of someone who uses opioids is a really important job, and honestly, it can be exhausting. I try to keep in mind the saying that "you can't get water from an empty well." In other words, I remind myself that I can't give to my loved one if I'm completely worn out. So I try to build in at least 5-10 minutes a day that are just for meeting my own needs. Quiet time, reading something funny, talking with a friend, playing a game on my phone, going for a walk. Really whatever I need that day. I have the time set aside and I can look forward to that as time to recharge. It helps me remember that I'm important, too!

How can you build in a few minutes each day to make time and space for your own needs? This can also help you support your loved one.
